Robert Hornback found himself obsessed with making art at an early age, coloring until he fell asleep almost every night through his teens. Originally from California, that childhood passion never faded. It evolved into a relentless drive to push creative boundaries and challenge what's possible.

Now the lead artist at Rebel Muse Tattoo in Lewisville, Texas, Robert specializes in realism and black & grey work. Every piece begins with understanding your story, then translating it into ink with depth, emotion, and technical precision.

Whether it's a portrait that captures the soul, a nature piece with lifelike texture, or a custom composition pushing creative limits, each tattoo is a one-of-a-kind collaboration between artist and canvas.

Yes. A deposit secures your appointment and is applied toward the final cost. Details are arranged directly with Robert after your consultation.

You must be 18+ with a valid government photo ID, per Texas law. No exceptions.

Aftercare

Healing Is Half the Work

How your tattoo looks six months from now comes down to the six weeks right after your session. Follow this closely, and reach out if anything ever looks or feels off.

Day 0–1Leave the wrap on for 2 to 4 hours. Then wash with unscented soap, pat it dry, and put on a thin layer of aftercare ointment.
Days 2–3Wash gently morning and night. A little redness, mild swelling, and a shiny look are all normal.
Days 4–6Flaking and peeling start. Do not pick or scratch it. Once it stops weeping fluid, switch from ointment to a plain unscented lotion.
Days 7–14Peeling keeps going, then eases off. The color may look cloudy or dull for a bit, that is just the healing layer sitting on top, and it clears.
Weeks 3–6The surface is healed. Keep it moisturized and out of the sun while the deeper layers finish healing underneath.
6 Weeks +Swing by for a check-in. If your piece needs a small touch-up, we will take care of you.

Do

  • Wash gently 2 to 3 times a day with unscented soap
  • Apply a thin layer of aftercare ointment, then switch to lotion
  • Sleep on clean sheets
  • Wear loose, breathable clothing over it
  • Drink plenty of water

Do Not

  • Soak it: no pools, baths, hot tubs, or ocean for 2 to 3 weeks
  • Sit in direct sun for the first 4 weeks, and always sunscreen after that
  • Pick, scratch, or peel the flaking skin
  • Train hard for the first 3 to 5 days
  • Re-wrap it once the first bandage comes off

Call the studio if you notice

Redness that keeps spreading after day 5, heat coming off the piece, red streaks running outward, fever, or any discharge that is not clear fluid. Those can be signs of infection, so pick up the phone and call us.
